(White Plains, NY, January 9, 2020) GLM, a leading operator of face-to-face and online buying, selling and networking platforms for retailers and suppliers, today announced that it will co-locate an Internet Retailer e-commerce conference with the September 2013 Surf Expo show.

The co-located event, "Internet Retailer @ Surf Expo," will present Surf Expo retailers and exhibitors with onsite access to top-level e-commerce vendors as well as hands-on information on how e-commerce can help to grow their businesses.

Internet Retailer is the leading online retailing event in the U.S., providing objective business information on market trends, technology, competitive practices and people that are shaping the e-commerce industry.

“Surf Expo has been the premiere trade show for the boardsports and beach lifestyle industry for more than 35 years," says Charles G. McCurdy, chairman and CEO of GLM. "This is an example of our continued investment in the success and growth of that marketplace. As the industry’s first and only co- located e-commerce event, it is designed to help our Surf Expo customers – whether retailers or vendors – sell more effectively, both online and offline.”

"The co-location exemplifies the leadership position of the September Surf Expo show, named one the 25 fastest growing trade shows in 2011 and 2012," continues McCurdy. “It's a natural extension of GLM’s commitment to supporting the boardsports and beach lifestyle industries and identifying trends in this rapidly changing marketplace."

The September Surf Expo will also feature a new and significant consumer component with the introduction of The Boardroom International Surfboard Show. Already a proven hit in Southern California, The Boardroom at Surf Expo will be a celebration of East Coast surfboard design and will address the pent up consumer demand to participate in Surf Expo. "We anticipate other near-term announcements that will continue to demonstrate GLM’s commitment to serving the needs of the boardsports industry,” says McCurdy.

Encompassing more than 215,000 net square feet of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, Surf Expo's September 2012 trade show has been roundly praised as the most successful in years, with more than 11,400 buyers attending the show during its three-day run. Surf Expo is produced in January and September and draws buyers from specialty stores across the U.S., the Caribbean, Central and South America and around the world. Surf Expo features approximately 2,000 booths of apparel and hardgoods and a full line-up of special events, including fashion shows, annual awards ceremonies, and demos.
