About GLM
GLM is a producer and marketer of consumer product tradeshows in North America, serving industries as diverse as giftware, home furnishings, social stationery, home textiles, tabletop, gourmet housewares, contemporary furniture, personal care, art, antiques, jewelry, surf, skate, water sports, swim and resort. GLM also manages business expositions and conferences on behalf of others, within the hospitality industry.
The company was founded by George F. Little, in 1924, and acquired by dmg world media, a global exhibition and publishing company, in 2007. The executive team includes Executive Vice President Alan E. Steel, and Senior Vice Presidents Dorothy Belshaw, Philip W. Burke, Richard Pasternak and Philip D. Robinson. George F. (Jeff) Little II, grandson of GLM founder, George F. Little, serves as a board member. GLM employs some 100 people, with offices in White Plains, NY, Atlanta, GA and Naples, FL.
We offer comprehensive tradeshow and conference management and marketing, with a menu of services, including: exhibit sales and marketing; attendance promotion and buyer services; media relations; seminar and special event production; customer service and registration; database development and management; operations; display; financial services and accounting; as well as internet development and marketing. Currently, we are involved in the production of 13 tradeshows in 4 cities across the United States. Together, these events showcase some 16,000 exhibitors in 3.2 million net square feet of exhibit space, and attract approximately 240,000 attendees. Seven of these shows are in the Tradeshow Week 200.
Outside of the trade arena, the company's Soiffer Haskin private sale division organizes merchandise close-out sales for luxury goods manufacturers and retailers seeking to move excess inventory. Established in 1982 and acquired by GLM in 1998, Soiffer Haskin currently conducts 35 private sales annually, for clients including Hugo Boss, Asprey, Hickey Freeman, Ralph Lauren Home, Tourneau, Lalique, Valentino, Max Mara, Frette and Loro Piana, with a customer base totaling 90,000.
To enhance our global presence, we have formed relationships with sales agencies around the world. Universal Marketing handles all trade and government groups, as well as manufacturers from Italy, and International Trade Projects handles participation from South Africa. In addition, Goldman Design & Marketing represents independent UK-based surface design artists and Design Eyes represents independent UK-based design-focused gift and home accessory suppliers.
