NEW YORK, NY, February 28, 2021… Two companies exhibiting in Accent on Design® at the New York International Gift Fair® (NYIGF) received Accent on Design Awards today in recognition of product design excellence, innovation and creativity. Accent on Design runs through Wednesday, January 30, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“These products are exemplary in both form and function,” said Jaime Sikorjak, Accent on Design sales manager. “These Accent on Design participants have taken originality and creativity to a new level.”

Awards were presented in the categories of Best New Collection and Excellence in Product Design.

Best New Collection:
MQuan (Brooklyn, NY) for the MQuan Collection, a line of handmade art sculptures for home and garden inspired by Eastern iconography, including garlands, bells and skulls, made from such materials as stoneware, porcelain, reclaimed wood, hemp rope and others. www.mquan.com

Excellence in Product Design:
Wabnitz Editions LTD representing Kontextür (New York, NY) for x3 Watering Can by Paul Loebach, a prototype featuring a revolutionary design using a single metal tube bent three times to create both the handle and spout, allowing for easy carrying and pouring. www.kontextur.com

The Accent on Design selection committee’s criteria for acceptance include: original, creative and authentic product design; new and innovative use of materials; products which address and solve problems; consistent and continuous new product creations; a focus on contemporary design (as perceived by the jury); and functionality.
